Explore Vedic Wisdom

This is a journey through some of the most sacred places in Northern India. Every day is an opportunity to learn about ancient Vedic traditions and local customs. 
There is a possibility for yoga classes every day. Ayurveda lessons by a local specialist are also available on demand. The classes are held after the base program of the trip and these days are additional. Contact us for more information. 

Day 1 
Flying to Delhi, India  

Day 2 
Arrival in Delhi and transfer to the holy city of Vrindavan by car, which is situated 150 km south of Delhi. Accomodation is in the yoga monastery Vrinda Kunja, originally built by the queen of Manipur 200 years ago. Rest. Lunch. Visiting various attractions in Vrindavan and the local shops for traditional clothing if desired.

Day 3 
Vrindavan. We visit the temple Yamuna Kunja which is situated on the beach of the Yamuna river. Walking along the river where the dead are burned according to the tradition. Seminar about the Karma and Reincarnation. Visiting the biggest temple in south Indian style named Ranganath located in the city center and also the temple Govindaji, one of the biggest architectural attractions in North India. Evening cruise on the Yamuna river. Participating the evening ceremony of Yamuna worship with fire and flowers. Seminar on the tradition of worship and how to show reverence to Mother Earth.

Day 4 
Vrindavan. We visit a school of traditional Indian dance Odissi. Presentation of the ancient Vedic theatre, the art of telling stories and communicate a spiritual message through dance, a tradition that has been held alive for thousands of years in India. Lunch. Visit the temple Mungir Mandir of the former Indian king Sadhu Maharaj, who now live as a renounced monk. Discussion and stories about India’s spiritual heritage.

Day 5   
Vrindavan. Walk around the sacred lake Radha Kunda at Goverdhan mountain. Stories of saints who lived there told by a local guide who will show some important places in the area. We visit various temples and monasteries. At lunch we visit the home of a local family where we get a presentation of the national cuisine and the tradition of sacred food. We have lunch in the family’s house.

Day 6  
Travel to Agra. Visiting Taj Mahal. Discussion about the new found evidence that the temple has existed since the 900s under its former name Tejo Mhalaja.
Day 7
Vrindavan. A day to witness the local way of life and spirituality. Meditation and yoga in the morning. Presentation of the ancient holy books, the Vedas, the source of all knowledge. Possibklity to visit and consult a local astrologer. In the afternoon we visit an Ayurvedic clinic. We explore the garden and learn about plants, herbs and ancient healing science principles. If desired, there is a possibility for an ayurvedic consultation.  

Day 8
We travel to Rishikesh located at the feet of Himalayas. Accomodation in Tapovan hotel.   

Day 9  
Rishikesh. Presentation of the sacred mountain and seminar on yoga as a healing method. Every morning in Rishikesh there is a possibility to do yoga in a special yoga ashram. During the day we have a walk along the sacred river of Gang. Free time.

Day 10  
Rishikesh. We make a Vedic fire ceremony, called Agni hotra. Discussion about the transformations of life and consciousness. In the afternoon we visit waterfalls in the Himalayas. Walk in the mountains.

Day 11 
Visit of the peak Kunja Puri, 1665 m, and the temple of Durga situated there. Here one can see the mighty Himalayan mountain chain. Evening lecture on the bank of the river Gang introducing the tradition of singing mantras, sacred sound vibrations. Possibility to visit an old yogi in Rishikesh.

Day 12  
Travel to the cave of the legendary sage Vasishta Muni. Presentation of the principle of accepting a spiritual master and the tradition of passing knowledge from ancient times.

Day 13 
Travel from Rishikesh to Delhi for the flight back home.
